LSME is excited to announce that Prof. Cécile Hébert’s project entitled “Opening up hyperspectral TEM data” will be part of the 2019 cohort of projects funding by the EPFL Open Science Fund. This project will tackle the current problem in transmission electron microscopy whereby data and metadata are generated in proprietary and undocumented formats, so making it difficult to share results openly. With this project, Hébert will create a suitable open standard and metadata scheme for hyperspectral TEM data, with the help of researchers and manufacturers. The goal is also to develop open tools for reading, converting, and manipulating TEM data. The other funded Open Science projects are described here.
